Bald Head Island

Bald Head Island # 16 Course Rating: 73.8
Slope Rating: 137
Architect: George Cobb

The Bald Head Island Golf Course is a seaside masterpiece located on the southernmost of the North Carolina cape islands. The Bald Head Island Club is a private club that is available for non-member play. Bald Head Island is located just north of Myrtle Beach, South Carolina, and can easily be reached in about an hour. Like the links courses in Ireland and Scotland, seven holes on the Bald Head Island Course stretch across rolling dunes overlooking the ocean. The course also winds through a maritime forest and wraps around fifteen freshwater lagoons. Architect George Cobb, consultant to Augusta National, left much of the land the way he found it – carved by wind and water. The ocean wind always plays a role in club selection and shot-making. The Bald Head Island Golf Course was awarded “4 1/2 stars” by Golf Digest.
